Sign up in March to apply for free spots
Take courses concurrently while in high school to graduate with certificates or degrees
Through GA Law, Public schools are required to provide accommodations for the following:
Extracurriculars including sports: As long as the student is attending ONE class with the GA public school system (which includes classes on Georgia Virtual School), schools are required to provide accommodations so your child can participate. Find information about the Dexter Mosely Act here.
Equitable Services (speech therapy, etc.): In accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) mandate and state regulations, public schools are required to provide services for parentally-placed private and homeschool options. You will be required to register your child into the school system so that they can properly allocate funds, but this does not entail your child attending classes.
Here is a link to the letter Mariam received when receiving services. She received services in Dekalb and Clayton County under this regulation.
